Meridian Grand

Meridian Grand is a beautiful venue in North London which is a timeless building designed to be elegant and memorable. Events are regularly held at Meridian Grand because people love the exquisite interior and the feeling of grandeur you get from the building. We had the privilege of helping to light this building and contributing to both the grand interior and exterior!

Externally, the way the building is lit up, we did all of that (as you can see from the picture, except the light signage). There is an external grade waterproof LED strip underneath both the words “Meridian” and “Grand”, this emphasises the name while also adding definition to the outline of the whole building. Wall washers light up the entire side of the building to also add definition and emphasise the feeling of grandeur. The pillars at the entrance of the building are lit up to give a focal point; floor lights are at the bottom of each pillar illuminating them, and at the top of the pillars there are lights to give a further sense of greatness, so much so they almost give a sense of flames being at the top.

But we didn’t stop there! Inside, all of the ceiling lights and matching wall lights are from our sister company Classical Chandeliers, which were purchased and installed by and from us.

We used LED strip in many of the event rooms to create an effect, the coffer in the ceiling beautifully washes across and gives an almost limitless feel of where the ceiling ends. Rako was used for the lighting controls and the colour control comes through DMX protocol which gives the ability to change the colours of the walls and the room, this is advantageous for Meridian Grand because it means that the rooms can be changed to match the event or colour scheme.

Similarly to outside, there are RGB floor lights to light up feature pillars - this is especially used in the ball room – and also wall washers to illuminate the walls internally.

Meridian Grand is a perfect example that shows the difference that correctly installed and designed lighting can make to a room and how effective it can look. The lights will help create atmosphere for many an event that will be held at Meridian Grand.
