Halogen candle bulbs are available in two different types; flame tips and standard tips. The flame tips are made to look like real flames with the bent tip at the top. Flame tips are good for areas where good aesthetics are needed and wanted, for example, in chandeliers or decorative lighting. This is especially because the original chandeliers actually used candles to give light so the flame tip bulbs would be adding a vintage feel at the same as making the fixture look more realistic.
Both the candle flame tip and standard tips have the code G35. They are currently only available in warm white colour temperature which is ideal for interior use. Halogen candle bulbs are particularly aesthetically pleasing because they have the added feature of being able to see the filaments through the glass. The glass itself is clear so that it maximises the light output and increases the look of sparkles and illumination of the fixture.
With the use of halogen technology the candle bulbs can save up to 30% on traditional incandescent filament bulbs. Alongside this, they also have a rated life of between 1000 and 2000 hours. Available in 18W, 28W and 42W these bulbs use less wattage than incandescent bulbs. They are also fully dimmable with the use of standard dimmer switches.
