Description

An infra red door sensor with silent operation for LED lights.
Thissensor requires a 12-24 volt LED driver to power. Here is a 10w compatible LED driver but higher power drivers can be used to switch up to 30 watts if required. This sensor uses an IR beam which detect when the door is opened and switches the 12-24volt DC supply voltage on to illuminate the LED.
The sensor is just 15mm diameter and for recessed fitting into a hole of 10mm diameter. A 2metre mini 2 core flex is supplied connected to the sensor control unit which is just 86x16x9mm in size.
Where a 12volt or 24 volt constant voltage light is used the same driver can be used for driving the sensor and light. Where constant current LED lights are being switched then a 12v DC driver can be used to drive 1 or more sensors and a 12volt DC relay can be used to switch the constant current driver for the LED light. Ranking based on the fact that I did not use it yet. It has been tested with a bank of LED bulbs and worked fine to switch on when uncovered and off when covered. I decided to use a sensor which switched with proximity. When I find a use for it I could modify the rating.
