GU10 Lamp Holder

GU10 lamp holder with 200mm leads.
These lamp holders are often used when people want to upgrade from MR16 low voltage spots to mains voltage GU10 spots. The MR16 uses a transformer or driver and when you change from halogen to LED then this is often not compatible. Certainly if you move from dimmable halogen MR16s and require dimmable LED MR16s then the dimmable halogen drivers will not work. One option is to upgrade the MR16 drivers to dimmable LED drivers. The other option, which is often more cost effective, is to change from MR16 to GU10 and then you do not need any transformers or drivers at all. Simply bi-pass or disguard the existing MR16 transformer and then use these GU10 lamp holders to connect in GU10 lamps.
