A fire protection hood to provide protection for non-fire rated ceiling lights or downlighters.
The hood is 150mm diameter and 150mm tall which is an ideal size for the majority of normal GU10 and MR16 spot fittings. The 150mm diameter measurement is to the inside of the hood, so this is the size of the air space within the hood.
The fire hats are compliant to the BS476 Part 23 standard and provide 66 minutes of protection in-line with this standard.
The installation process is quite straightforward as the fire hood can be folded and fitted from below through the ceiling light hole.

Great product at a great price. Prompt delivery. Safety belts and braces keeps building Regs happy. These days most downlighters are fire rated plus LED bulbs give off little heat but it’s better to be safe than sorry. How’s your wire connections? If your using the new Hybris loft insulation (it’s not fire rated) it may be super thermal efficient but these goods make it safe.

An essential piece of electrical safety when installing spotlights on an upstairs ceiling. Excellent price but could have been dispatched a bit quicker. When in loft space easy to install.

Good price and quick delivery but the rivets fall out really easily, another piece of the metal plate should be used to stop them tearing through. I debated replacing the rivets but in the end it wasn't necessary for my application.
