Compact Fluorescent Lamp

Energy saving bulbs using the compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) technology which provides energy efficient, cost effective lighting for homes and commercial premises. These bulbs are of the MR16 and GU10 type as used with the majority of downlighters which traditionally have halogen bulbs. They are a direct replacement for the MR16 and GU10 Halogen bulbs but the length of the bulb is sometimes slightly longer. The energy saving MR16 and GU10 will not only save considerable energy but also the lower heat output reduces fire risk because the bulb does not get extremely hot like halogen lamps. The GU10 CFL lamp is a direct replacement for GU10 halogen lamps and the MR16 CFL lamps are supplied with a special transformer for operation from the mains 240v supply.
